To delete your Unomed account and associated data, follow the steps below. This page applies to the Unomed mobile and web apps.
Email support@unomed.ch from your registered Unomed email address with the subject “Delete my Unomed account” and include:
- Full name
- Registered email address
- (Optional) Reason for deletion
If you no longer have access to the registered email, tell us in your message and we’ll guide you through alternative verification.
To prevent misuse, we will verify the request before deletion:
- We send a confirmation email to your registered email address.
- You must confirm within 7 days and send us a copy of your ID card or passport for identification.
- Unconfirmed requests are closed automatically.
If you cannot access your registered email, we may request additional proof (e.g., last successful login details or an in-app code).
Upon confirmed request, we delete:
- Your account profile and identifiers in Unomed
- Your app settings, saved preferences, and tokens
- Your uploaded files and documents stored by Unomed
- Your direct patient communication and chat history stored on Unomed systems (where deletion does not conflict with legal retention obligations of healthcare providers)
We may retain limited data where required or permitted by law and for security/compliance:
- Billing, transaction, and audit logs (e.g., for tax, accounting, and security)
- Records required by healthcare providers or by law (these may be controlled by the provider, not Unomed)
- Backups: deleted items are removed from active systems immediately and from backups during the next routine backup cycle.
Retention period: Only as long as necessary to meet legal obligations (e.g., accounting records may be kept for up to 10 years, per applicable Swiss requirements).
Acknowledgement: within 5 business days
Deletion completion (after verification): typically within 30 days
You will lose access to your Unomed account.
Any shared links you created will stop working.
Content that is part of another party’s legal medical record may not be deleted from that party’s system; however, it will no longer be associated with your Unomed account.
If you change your mind before we complete deletion, reply to the same email thread and say “Cancel deletion”.
