About FreeOffice
FreeOffice ist eine kostenlose Office-Suite von SoftMaker, die TextMaker (Textverarbeitung), PlanMaker (Tabellenkalkulation) und Presentations (Präsentationen) umfasst und vollständig kompatibel mit Microsoft Office Formaten (DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX) sowie OpenDocument Formaten ist. Die proprietäre Freeware ist verfügbar für Windows, macOS und Linux (Desktop kostenlos, mobile Apps kostenpflichtig), bietet über 430 Rechenfunktionen in PlanMaker, Rechtschreibprüfung in 85 Sprachen, wahlweise Ribbon- oder klassische Menü-Oberfläche und direkte PDF-Erstellung. FreeOffice basiert auf der gleichen Code-Basis wie SoftMaker Office, verzichtet jedoch in der kostenlosen Version auf kommerzielle Wörterbücher, Thesaurus, Tab-basierte Dokumentverwaltung und einige erweiterte Funktionen der Kaufversion. Die Lösung richtet sich an Privatpersonen und Unternehmen, die eine kostenlose, leichtgewichtige Alternative zu Microsoft Office mit hoher Format-Treue suchen, wobei keine Cloud-Integration oder Echtzeit-Kollaboration angeboten wird.
